In 1993 the Argyle Municipality Historical and Genealogical Society undertook the commission and sale of ceramic replicas of historically significant buildings in the municipality. The replicas are created by Romanian sculptor, Marius Atanase, formerly of Yarmouth, N.S., and now of Calgary, Alta. Mr. Atanase sculpts the original replicas of buildings from plaster-of-paris. These originals are then used to manufacture molds from which individual buildings are created, then hand-painted, signed and numbered by the artist.
We now have beautiful ceramic replicas of four different heritage buildings for sale.
