The Bible was then used by Elkanah & Elizabeth. Also recorded are births of Abner Andrews & Sarah Andrews who brought up/adopted Elkanah Travis’ father, Nathanial Travis. MG1 Ser. E Travis, #2

True certified copy of the records from the family Bible of Nathaniel & Eleanor Travis of Kemptville, Yar.Co., NS.   The title page between the Old and New Testaments indicates that this was the “Polyglott Bible” published at Hartford, Connecticut, 1838, by Andrus, Judd, & Franklin.

This is a family Bible that would have been kept by Nathaniel & Eleanor Travis from about 1840-1851.  Sometime around 1851 they probably acquired a new Bible and copied these records over into it.  No marriages appear in this Bible, but none of their children would have been married by that date.
